Virginia Military Institute is a public military college located in Lexington, Virginia. The Keydets compete in NCAA Division I athletics and are members of the Southern Conference. As a senior military college, VMI combines academic study with military training while sponsoring a range of varsity sports. The athletic department represents the institute in regional and national competition.
