Alabama State University is a public historically Black university located in Montgomery, Alabama. The Hornets compete in NCAA Division I athletics as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Alabama State athletics sponsors multiple varsity programs and competes primarily within the SWAC structure. The department represents the university in regional and national competition.
